My wife and I called 2 agents in from Sandringham and found both people to be quite impressive. We actually decided we were most likely not going with Russ and communicated that to him. In the midst of this the real estate industry started shutting down, NO auctions NO ofis etc, and we decided to wait and see if we were going to even be allowed to have anyone in at all. I interviewed 3 agents who were recommended by Rate my Agent as the top three best sellers in the area. I selected Russ because I liked his no nonsense manner and his recent sales success. At auction I was disappointed that at a bid of $1.5M I was pressure by one of Russ’ colleagues to put the property ‘on the market’ thus agreeing to sell at or around this price. I had previously advised Russthat would not sell at any price and this bid was certainly lower than we had agreed to sell. The property eventually went on to sell for $1.76M so had I followed Russ’ lead I may have fallen well short of my target. After the excitement of the successful sale, communication with Russ completely stopped. I was not left with a contract of sale. It took me 2 phone calls and an email and a week later to finally receive the contract. I had also signed a document requesting early release of the deposit. When this occurred advice was received from my solicitor on the day. It took Russ almost 2 weeks to let me know that this had occurred In my view sales service means before and after. I have used other agents in the past and felt that Russ fell well short of any after sales service.
