It’s a little strange writing a review, when I bought this one myself, but it’s the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the huge efforts of my key support person Matt Begg. While overseas on leave, Matt stepped up to the plate and filled some big shoes and covered some intense and long days. After a quiet start, this property ended up being hit on by 3 buyers. Once I realised I would like to buy the property myself, in fairness to the owners, I instructed Matt to disclose my interest to them and to keep negotiating until the other buyers were done. I asked Matt to keep showing the property until an offer was accepted and contracts exchanged. The shoe was on the other foot this time and I was nervous and stressed, wondering if I would still be in the race at the end. Being overseas nothing was easy, from communication with my broker, to working out how to sign a contract and transfer funds. In the end I paid substantially over what the owners had said they’d accept, paying $140,000 over what had been quoted by another local agent! The main thing is that the vendors absolutely got the best possible result they could hope for and I bought a home I love. Modest in size, but with a heavenly outlook and a backdrop of bush, it’s just perfect for me. Like most buyers I went where I had to go to get this property because it uniquely suited my needs. Real estate isn’t just about houses, it’s about people connecting to spaces and places they’ll feel at home ..... Anyone who knows me, knows I almost never take leave, but while enjoying a wonderful rare break away overseas with my beautiful daughters, I was comforted knowing all my owners were receiving superb service and being well looked after by my very able executive assistant Matt Begg. So thank you Matt for all the sales you put together while I was away and for all the dreams you helped make come true for my sellers and buyers alike .... nice negotiating!
