Lack of connection with seller

Selling my home for the first time felt rushed, and several requests I made regarding the property description were overlooked. While attendance at open inspections continued to increase, the market itself was clearly readjusting. Within just 14 days, there were 21 inspection attendees and two serious buyers, demonstrating strong interest in the property. Despite this, I ultimately felt pressured into negotiating with a buyer who remained firm on their position. Throughout the process, it appeared the agent was primarily focused on securing one particular buyer, repeatedly emphasising the importance of not losing them and referring to missed opportunities with previous buyers. This left me feeling that other potential opportunities may not have been fully explored. In addition, Tanja frequently referenced examples of other vendors who had struggled to sell their properties, which I felt added unnecessary pressure during the decision-making process. As a result, I did not feel fully supported in making a considered and informed decision that aligned with my own objectives as the seller. Ultimately, the property sold for what I believe was a fair price. However, my concerns relate not to the outcome, but to the process. With better communication, greater consideration of my preferences, and less pressure throughout negotiations, I believe the overall experience could have been handled more effectively.

Great advice, great team, great result!!

Tania and Lori from Jellis Craig, made the experience of selling our mother's home easy and successful. Right from the start our family felt reassured by the advice on how to prepare the property for sale, they organised everything. We were impressed with the competitive quotes from tradie's they recommended and the standard of work to make the house shine was fantastic. Selling a deceased estate with a committee of benefactors has its challenges, but Tania and her team were made aware of this and were flexible in their approach, understanding that responses may take a few extra days to be made due to the many people involved. They also assisted by providing clear and considered information so the family could make well informed decisions. They assisted in deciding how to best present the property while minimising the work and costs involved, using their expertise to encourage certain processes and to assure us that other processes were not necessary. Basically, they stepped us through the process with professionalism and kindness, given they were dealing with a large, grieving family. We would totally recommend this team to any potential seller, particularly if you are busy family. Tania also bought in spectacular colleagues on auction day. There were at least five Jellis Caraig staff assisting us and the potential buyers on the day. Once again their professionalism, good humour and frank advice provided us with confidence that they would get the best deal for us and they did! Thanks again Tania and Lori for making a distressing process, seamless and stressless!

Don’t bother

Where to start? Everything seemed perfect and exactly what you wanted to hear until you signed the agreement. From that point on, everything became a problem. They were unable to handle even the simplest task, and multiple mistakes were made on different occasions. I would like to express my gratitude to Tanja Neven-Jones for consistently demonstrating incompetence. Once we escalated and everything was handed over to Bryon Kerr the managing director we managed to get a sale from a person Tanja had presented multiple times as from her notes very uninterested… go figure. In short, my advice is not to bother with this real estate agency. There are plenty of other capable agents out there, so do yourself a favor and find someone else. I truly wish I had.

The absolute best!

Tanja was honestly so great to work with as a seller. She was always contactable and did her very best to get the result we were after. She absolutely guided us the whole way and was always there when we needed her. She knows the Chelsea area like no other agent and we are continuing to engage with her so she can help us buy our next property! Highly recommend Tanja!
