I was counting recently: I have moved home 29 times since childhood. In that time, I have encountered far too many real estate agents, some good, some mediocre and some downright hopeless. In one case, my property disappeared from the agent's website, and he didn't know until months later! And then along came Tom McLeod from Elders in Hervey Bay, like a breath of fresh air. Tom made two promises: to actively seek a buyer for the block of land that had been unsold for five years - not simply wait for someone to turn up; and to keep in regular contact with me. Based on past experience, I thought that meant a one liner every two years! How wrong I was. Tom called me every couple of weeks, told me what he had been doing, and gave me a rundown on the market. And, at long last, he found a buyer and used his negotiating skills on my behalf. I thoroughly recommend Tom: an honest and friendly hard worker, who keeps in regular touch whether there is anything to report or not; and even though your property may not be worth a great deal, Tom still still provides great service. You'll certainly get well looked after, and that is an attribute that is not easy to find these days - indeed, an elusive quality in the world of real estate.

We had confidence in Tom and his open approach from the start. At every stage of the sale he remained friendly and helpful to us, but retained his professionalism as an agent working in the best interests of the vendor. I think the outcome was fair and reasonable for both the seller and buyer.
