I complete these reviews regularly, my 4 stars is the equivalent of a 5 star review. However there is always room for improvement. (Even if we are the best). I am also taking this review seriously, so to complete it appropriately I need to provide some background. We appointed Murray based on a cricketing relationship, we listed with him immediately in a depressed market. Our house was in a region with little or no sales evidence. We had experience but far from expert. We were like all sellers, wanting top dollar but followed his advice from the onset. Have to admit we entered with an emotive tie with our property. Thankfully we had Murray providing words of wisdom (realism in our quest). He opened the home every weekend, I knew he had done his homework as we always had people attend. It lead to the sale but this is where I can offer now offer some real perspective. At sale we suddenly become purchasers. Realised what we wanted (top dollar) is common to all. However some owners priced on the glory days pre-dating the GFC. Learnt homes had tendered for realtors and listed at the premium price, consider this only creates false hope. It is the purchasers (who are savvy) which define market price and trust me they know the current market. During our 60 days I learnt Murray lost some potential listings as he didn’t subscribe in providing the fairy-tale summation to gather the list….. Simply put, he deals in matters of fact. So with the benefit of hindsight, Murray was always: • Honest. His appraisal was on the mark. • Returning our calls. • Open to discussion and willing to revise his thoughts to mirror ours. • Went that extra mile to ensure right outcome. (He works hard). So to conclude he is genuine, keeps it real, doesn’t shirk away from the hard conversation and wont deliver any fluff. We have since come to learn we got a really really good sale price too.
