He is personable, easy to converse with and has empathy for his clients. I was impressed by his interest in me as a person and my reason for selling. He posed the question politely. ‘What price are you looking for?’ My reply was greeted with raised eyebrows, and a shrug without comment. But then Jon’s enthusiasm kicked in and an inspection of the property was followed by advice on improvements. I took his advice and from thereon in the journey was exciting. His team, including the attentive Candice Jewson and Sergio Yanez was called in, dedicated to achieving the best possible result for their client. Interstate advertising and open houses led to a list of prospective buyers attending the auction. Jon and his team were diligent, constantly keeping in touch with buyers until the day of the auction, and I was impressed again by their expertise. I was honoured to be with award-winning Gavin Croft, one of the finest auctioneers in the country. We discussed our target, and Gavin expressed his tactics, caressing his gavel with a passion that inspired me. Jon was at my side during the auction, explaining the event as it progressed. The bidding was fast and furious, and tension crept in as the pace slowed to accommodate the two remaining buyers. When the gavel came down for the final call – SOLD - there was a round of applause and congratulations from the audience, a mixture of satisfaction for a job well done, relief from tension, and an appreciation of skill, hard work, and achievement. The auction sold well above reserve price, and as we head towards settlement, I am appreciative of Jon’s continuing support. He organised all the paperwork and introduced me to tradespersons for the necessary pre-sale improvements. He took the pressure off me.
