We rented through One Agency Wauchope from August 2021 to July 2022. We had to take the rental sight unseen due to moving from interstate, and being Health Care Professionals we required a property that was in a area with no ongoing construction, due to the long hours and irregular hours that we worked. This was expressed verbally to Emily ( property Manager) prior to moving to Port Macquarie and accepting lease. We had applied for a rental in Beechwood that was on some acreage and in a quite area, but we were asked to apply for the lease in Ascot Park. Emily verbally guaranteed that even though it was a new estate there was no construction going on near the rental property. When we arrived and walked into property we were hit with construction noise and tradesmen everywhere. There were 2 properties in full construction behind the house. I wanted to cry. The electric garage door did not work, and we had removalists arriving. When I contacted Emily about the garage door she replied " Oh yer it wouldn't work for Ash and I either, Ash had to turn the electricity off and on to make it work" 1. She was not transparent and honest about construction around property 2. New there was a fault with garage door but chose to do nothing about it. The ongoing construction in Gunsynd Chase lasted for our whole lease and is still ongoing, The noise was so bad that I had to notify council and the construction company on many occasions. We had no NBN for months due to the property address not being registered with council. John the Principal of Real estate did nothing to help, and only became aggressive and rude. My husband had to move out of property due to developing respiratory problems, due to construction dust We ended our lease a month early due to construction starting on the same block at front of property and had our driveway consistently blocked by tradesmen. We were charged a break lease fee even though tenants moved in 2 days later.
