When you build a home, you get attached to every detail and you want to ensure that its sale goes smoothly but also that your feelings get respected in the process. We made very clear from the start that we were testing the market, there was no rush for a sale and I was more than happy to hold onto the property and would only agree to sell at a certain price, which was within the indicative estimated bracket. Terry initially came across as a nice person but quickly turned into a very harassing agent, calling and messaging at all hours requesting "urgent" or "immediate" contact while providing very little notice. Terry misplaced our original builder key and when questioned as to its whereabouts as I was concerned there may be a tag with a labelled address, I was told "the other key has not reappeared. One of those little mysteries that remain unsolved". This felt very much like a nonchalant response considering the potential risk of it ending up in the wrong hands.. I would have absolutely changed the locks if the property had not sold and I'm still dubious on whether the buyer was made aware.. Once an offer was placed on the property, it all became rushed. We were overseas for my husband's 40th and we were both being harassed. I HAD to sign the documents and find a way to revert them while away. We had a few issues with the notice to discharge from our bank and during that time while spending hours on the phone with the bank, I was getting belittled and told "I lacked common sense" because I refused to enter in a "prior possession arrangement". We were threatened we would incur "high interest charges" even when this was a highly inaccurate advice. I had to wonder if "my" agent was actually working "for me" or "against me" and I am pretty certain it was the latter as I'm still awaiting for the mandatory "congratulations on the sale of your house" but certainly got plenty of belittling and quite frankly disrespectful messages.
