I’m probably not the best person to give a review on real estate agents, when it comes to renting, as Victoria’s rules are far too pro tenant vs. landlord. I understand that they’re doing their job, however when the house was sold to me it was “rental ready” might I add that O’Brien sold me the house. Example: If you sell a house with only two keys (and I asked where the rest were at the time) and think that’s okay for me to accept, but when it comes to me handing over the keys to them as a landlord it’s a massive drama. I had to spend x amount on a locksmith, which at the end of the day I was so happy to do. I just find it complete double standards. I also had a list of things I wanted to do in the house to update it, but yet they wouldn’t advertise my house until I handed over all the keys, but how would I get in to do said jobs without keys…? This was rectified after I questioned it, but I did find it a bit backwards. You can advertise, because chances are a tenant isn’t going to move in the next day. This is just one of the many little (insert roll eye emoji) moments I’ve had. This might seem petty and small, but I just find the things they fuss over are absolutely minor. I do hope going forward that they are as strict on the tenant, as they are the landlord. If that’s the case my house should hopefully remain spotless for the next year! Another little note to add was they used previous owners photos, as they couldn’t get a photographer and I wanted it advertised sooner. I understood that it wouldn’t change the advertising costs - but I dunno as a courtesy I feel like it would have just been kind, as from my knowledge they never sent in a photographer to update the photos during the advertising period.
