This was tough. A move after 20 years. Selling my home was huge. I have an eclectic taste which I am proud of but it doesn’t fit everyone’s aesthetic. Mal directed me to an company that fixes what needs to be done around your home to make it ready for sale and you pay when your house is sold. A stylist who got rid of my beautiful excellent over the top taste. God that was hard. How could anyone not like it??? But it was necessary. It was a godsend. It looked fabo. My house was worth a sqillion bucks but there was no juice in the tank prior. Asset rich cash poor. That was a godsend. Because I was a seller virgin, Mal held my hand, and the buyers as well to make the transition easier for both of us. He was so kind and helpful. Looking back the questions were so naive and dumb but I had no idea. He was so patient and hilarious. That classic Aussie hanging shit banter. ‘You right there?’ Mal, I don’t think that’s a good idea?’ ‘Trust me’ he said. And was on point. He made it fun and accessible through the tears and stress of it all. And he was savvy. Through the Covid lockdown, all other agents thought it wise to wait till the market ‘was open’ but Mal sold mine for an incredible price ‘off grid’ as there was little stock on the market. A sensational outcome. 400 k more than what was listed. My beautiful house was sold to a lovely soul sister who got it 100%. Because you can sell your house to anyone, my worst nightmare was to sell to some weekend tourist who would want to cut down my precious Moonah trees to make way for extensions that were not necessary and annoy the hell out of my beautiful neighbours . We are simple Rye back beach folk. A close supportive community of surf loving people that look after each other. He found Maria who just got it all. Bless. Thank you. I have handed the baton on. With a very unique property to market, Mal was extremely thorough in his research and recommendations. Residing in Melbourne however selling a property on the peninsula, I was extremely nervous. Mal made the process run extremely smoothly with me being able to carry on with life in Melb. He went over and beyond assisting with local maintenance trades.
