Tim from Home Estate, a family run business, is the new manager for my 92 year old mother's older style unit in Maroubra. He rang and advised us that the market rent was considerably above our current rental and that we should increase the rental. Initially we were hesitant to make a change, and we had a long discussion about this with Tim. He was clear, very polite and patient in his communication with both my elderly mother and myself, as he explained the current market changes in detail. The outcome was that we agreed to let him essentially do his job and manage the unit as he believed was best. He rang multiple times to inform us of each step of the change of tenant, and advertising for a new tenant. The upshot was that he advised us to take the first tenant who applied, who actually offered $25 more than the advertised rental. As an outcome of our interactions with Tim it was refreshing to have an agent who always answered the phone personally when I rang or got back to me within minutes, and did not appear to be unavailable or in yet another meeting as is often the case these days. I would highly recommend the services of Home Estate.
