Initially Nathan was a good communicator, timely and attentive. My husband and I explained our financial position and required a process where we could sell our apartment in order to purchase a house and do so in a timely manner. We also explained very clearly that we had nowhere else to live once the unit was sold and did not want to be homeless before Christmas. Nathan gave us a list of properties, one of which we loved. Nathan advised the property was tenanted however described the arrangement as a short term lease and the tenants would ‘definitely be out by Christmas’. We blindly followed his advise and discovered too late into the legal process that the lease was in fact a fixed term contract until July 2022 and we are unable to break the lease. Nathan did not follow up the tenants as requested to find out if they were going to move out stating he didn’t want to annoy them and we should wait until after settlement - because by that stage it’s too late to back out. To cut a long story short, we are now owners of a property we cannot move into and are homeless. Since settlement Nathan has since blamed the tenants for misadvising him as a way to absolve himself of any wrong doing. My advice when working with Nathan (and any agent for that matter) is double check the finer details and proceed with caution.
