Tim wasn't the cheapest agent we looked at, but I went with him because he responded very quickly and was the most credible when it came to local knowledge and market expectations. This was our long term "sea change" block that we bought some 23 years ago. Our circumstances changed in the meantime and we were challenged to find a good deal of money very quickly. Being an Architect, I drew up many designs as to how to build and design our dream home. Sadly this wasn't to be, as our age caught up with our long term vision and we were obliged to sell and sell quickly. I knew the block would bring a fairly good price, being one of only a few blocks left on the estate of Great Ocean Views, and having the ability to be subdivided into at least two good size blocks. In addition, having a perfect location, that was not too close to the ocean but with good views across to the Heads. When the sale process started, Tim Carson and his team took over the reins and immediately started getting offers from clients. McCartney Real Estate were the first company I contacted and we didn't need to get other agents involved. Tim already had clients in train, and it was he who thankfully convinced us we should follow their method of client submissions by a due date. All offers would be considered and put into the submission "hat" to be opened only on the due date. In the meantime, other offers would be considered along the way and put in the “hat”. Several early offers were made, but Tim said it would be in our best interests if we waited and opened all submissions on the due date before accepting any before hand. Just as well we took his advice and waited. The final accepted offer was in my view (as an architect and previous government valuer) at the top end of what we hoped for, so we can't thank Tim and his team enough for their efforts and perfect results. I would certainly recommend McCartney R E to anyone considering selling their property, especially if they live within or outside Torquay. I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received.
