The sale side of things went well, market knowledge is second to none. Unfortunately, as far as communication and professionalism goes there were many challenges in getting finer details right, being presented with an Agency Agreement with the details of your ex-partners solicitor instead of the firm agreed in the separation orders may be seen as a small oversight and mistake by the agency but is very confronting when trying to finalise a sensitive matter, especially after the agent tried to talk me into using a conveyancer despite the legally agreed to orders. When the process of contracts being signed was being undertaken an advertisement for the property popped up on my Facebook feed, leaving me confused and having to reach out to the agent as this suggested to me the sale may not occur. I was expecting the process to be straight forward after these challenges from the agency, I was mistaken as when got a remittance from the agency for my payment from the deposit, the email with the remittance advice was sent as a group email to myself and ex-partner sharing my bank details with my ex-partner. The agency said this was standard practice in the name of transparency, unfortunately due consideration of privacy was not exercised in this pursuit of transparency. Ultimately, I have felt like I wasn't valued in this process and was not treated as an individual by the agency, this experience has left me feeling that I was a burden on an Agency too focussed on moving things forward as quickly as possible for the collective vendors, instead of paying attention to details and respecting the circumstances of the individuals involved. If the Agency took the time to explain things to me as an individual maybe this experience could have been better, unfortunately most of the communication felt transactional and when details were incorrect, and I stood up for myself I was made feel I was in the wrong for questioning the Agency.
