I obtained two appraisals on our home. But prior to this, I have done my research of past sales in the area especially for duplexes. Mele gave me a price bracket that I know was achieved through the past sales. The market was a tricky one with a slight reprieve on the RBA rate increases after 10 consecutive interest rate hikes. There are good prices achieved for outstanding properties but there are very few properties available in the market right after Easter. So, it’s hard to predict whether consumer confidence was indeed back. Mele explained to us her marketing strategy in great detail and meticulous engagement. Through the weeks, she gave me feedback after each open. Making us excited about the high number of visits but never sugar coating the lows and always managing our expectations. She gave us an estimate of how many people will turn up on Auction. As nerves set in a few days prior to Auction, she sat us down and told us that the work has been done and to trust the process. I remember saying to her not to disappoint us. Come Auction Day, Mele and Michael (the auctioneer), Manuel, Tony and Jack all did a wonderful job of managing the crowd and managing the entire process.
