Independent Property Group can proudly trace its history back to August 1958 when R.O Wellsmore opened its doors in Manuka.
In 1974, R.O. Wellsmore joined with another locally established agency, Reg Daly Real Estate, and steadily grew to become Canberra’s leading combined agency. In 1990 they began trading as R.O. Wellsmore Independent and Reg Daly Independent and were joined by a third business that became Federation Independent.
As their success grew, so did the strength of the Independent brand. So much so, that in 2000 the decision was made by the franchisees to drop the separate entity names and trade under just one: Independent Property Group.
Since its formation, Independent has continually sought to improve and innovate the marketing of established homes. Always striving to do better, Independent leads the market in client relations, on-going career training, advanced marketing and residential developments. Over the last 10 years we have become a multidisciplinary brand, providing a full range of property services to our clients, not only within Canberra, but also in the surrounding regions.
Our team has grown to include hundreds of people in sales, property management, body corporate and administrative roles and we continue to be an employer of choice. Our focus on employee recognition and development and our award winning training has played a huge part in Independent’s success over the past 50 years, attracting the best talent in real estate.
