It was indeed our lucky day when my wife Janelle came across David Treloar while he was taking out his wheelie bin a few weeks ago. She asked him whether he knew of a local gardener who might be able to trim our hedge, as we were tidying up the property prior to putting it on the market. David, whose home was only two houses away, did. He offered to get in touch with him on our behalf. And he revealed that he was a real estate agent, happy to assist us with our marketing of the house, should we require his services. David was aware of our property, of course, and enthusiastic about our prospects of finding a buyer. From that day forward, David could not have been more approachable, more accessible, and more professional. His advice was always sound; his knowledge of the neighbourhood and the market was impressive; and he always gave us the feeling that he was very much on our side. We live on the Sunshine Coast and it was of great comfort to know that we had somebody close at hand to deal with little things like meeting tradespeople on our behalf, putting out the rubbish and, of course, finding a gardener for us. It saved us long treks. Real estate agents don't usually do these kind of chores, but we came to think of David as a friend, and we didn't think twice about asking him for help.
