I felt bullied by Kathryn to make an offer within a very tight timeline (6pm) and although I wasn't convinced that I wanted the property as it was during Covid19 pandemic and I could not view the property in person, I was also interstate, I relied on my parent's opinion which they said was nice but too much work for me. Kathryn had an answer for everything and was quite persistent. She also recommended I use her building and pest guy and if I used him he would give me a good discount so unfortunately I used him to look at the place, she said he was thorough and straight talking. He neglected to tell me the issues of the place and only highlighted two small things. There is a long list of things he needed to highlight in order to have been representing my interests. He told me on the phone that I got a good deal, on coming into the house I can see that I didn't. I overpaid on the house as I was given the incomplete information. They both said it was 'immaculate', which it was not! With quite major things i.e. broken window, rotten door, rust on shower, a leaking roof etc, yard flooding. He wrote a very vague report covering him of any liability, of course. As I took on their feedback I decided that it was probably too good to be a rental as the B&P and Kathryn described it as immaculate and although I had just signed a lease and went to the expense of moving interstate I would relocate back to the house with my children and pets in tow. On arriving I could see it would be a better rental for my circumstances than to live in and if I was given the correct information at the time then I would have a) paid less, b) used it as an investment or c)pulled out of the contract. I relied on these people to be truthful during the Covid lockdown, but instead they were self-serving and manipulative. On the pre-settlement inspection the house was grimey, she and the prev. owner bullied me when I asked for it to be cleaned and then vendor took the handover info away! I was shocked.
