In our opinion our experience as buyers with this agency was disappointing and stressful, and it really took all the joy out of buying a house. We felt unsupported throughout the settlement process. We understand that an agent is required to represent the seller; however, we felt this agent did not hold the seller accountable, and the representation was extremely biased. End of the day the buyer hands over the money. My partner and I have both been sellers and buyers of properties in previous hot property markets, and our experience with other agents was fair and pleasant as all parties were kept equally accountable. This house was styled to an inch of its life with staging furniture and accessories, which we felt was deceptive as it covered various defects. It was very difficult to thoroughly inspect the property in a timely manner with the short home opens and so many other people viewing the property. A private viewing was not possible and was rejected. The staging furniture was also left inside the house during the building inspection, making it difficult for our inspector to thoroughly inspect the property. Needless to say, we encountered defects and issues during our final inspection that we believe were not present during the home open when we put in our offer. We expressed our concerns with the agent, however we didn't get anywhere. By this point we were so over the whole experience we gave up. From our experience, in our opinion we feel the agent is unethical in their business practices, and we will NOT engage their services if/when we plan to sell, as we wouldn't want buyers to be treated the way we were treated. We will not be recommending this agent to anyone in our networks. If you are purchasing a property, make sure you thoroughly inspect the property (treat it like a final inspection) before putting in an offer and make sure all your windows open, don't be afraid, or be too polite to move/look behind and under the staged furniture.
