At our first meeting (several months before the auction) Jeff said: "I'm putting a ring around $1.8m". At the time this seemed quite ambitious. We then began a rapid campaign of getting our house and garden to a state that would deliver that number. Fortunately for us, the market was also rising. He's a busy guy, but Jeff was great at explaining the reasons behind his strategy and had our agreement at each stage. He stuck to his guns on a few expensive but important improvements (painting the bricks and tiled roof). We grudgingly agreed at first and the investment paid off. In the end we got slightly more than the $1.8 - selling for $1.825m.

I'm quite conservative by nature and I take a while to build trust especially with people in the sales industry. I interviewed several agents, however I could tell immediately that Jeff was the real deal - what you see is what you get. I knew quite a bit of the local market in Beacon Hill and Jeff really impressed with what he brought to the table. He was involved with 3 other home sales in the street within the previous year and had very detailed and current knowledge of the market. Jeff is patient and explained things in detail. He is honest and tells the home truths up front - weather it be about your house styling, upsides and downsides of your property and even on the property value estimate. These are all good points because you need to be in the right head space before embarking on a sale. When we pulled the trigger, he immediately set in to action the essential minimal restyling which was required, arranged photos etc. It took me a while to let go and he reassured me several times he knew what he was doing and of course he was absolutely right. I really wanted to be kept updated on the progress and he certainly did that for me as well with regular catch ups. My property was an off market sale and sold within about 2 weeks. Several offers up front and he spent most of that time working to get the highest price for my property and in the end was almost identical to the estimate he provided at the beginning - so he was bang on. Not only that - 6 months on and Jeff is still in touch and assisting with advise and tactics on several different homes we've been interested in buying. Thanks so much Jeff, well done and I'll definitely be using him again in the future!
