Grateful to have our application approved in the tough rental market. Initial communication before we signed the contract was excellent, and they gave us a small "welcome home" present which was a lovely gesture. However, on the first day that we were supposed to move in, we noticed a pungent smell present in the front bedroom. We know the previous tenant had a cat and it might've peed on the carpet. The apartment was professionally cleaned, but the smell is still present and it's impossible to occupy the room. We requested for the room to be cleaned again, but a week has gone by and we haven't received any confirmation about the cleaner. We also haven't received the property condition report. We have paid 2 weeks rental fee in advance, but we haven't physically moved in because it's unhealthy to inhale ammonia smell for a long period of time, and we also wish to receive the property condition report before moving in big furniture. We hope this issue can be rectified as soon as possible.
