Donna is the honest, reliable and genuine. She did everything she said she would and more. What can be a very stressful process, she made easy. She deserves all of the accolades and recognition she receives for being the #1 Agent in Newcastle. We would happily use Donna again when buying/selling in the future. She is a class above the rest.
Donna was great to work with. She was professional and attentive, always returned calls and kept me up to date with developments. A great strategist. She sold my house for an excellent price in a period of downturn. I would recommend her!
Great team and over the moon with the result. We did our research on agencies in the area and interviewed multiple agents. It was a very clear choice in the end. The whole team did a great job in selling my home and we were stoked with the final result. We couldn’t recommend Spillane Property highly enough and would happily use them when we sell next.
Donna has won awards for her auction clearance rate. We thought this was predictive of achieving a good outcome with her agency. BUT we failed to consider just HOW this auction rate was achieved. The RIGHT questions were "How many sales were UNDER reserve?" and "What tactics did you use to get the vendor to accept such a poor result?" When we signed with this agency, everything looked slick and professional. But as Mike Tyson said, "Everyone's got a plan - until they get punched in the face". Sure enough, auction day was another story. We were told "people that want to buy in Carrington want a CHARACTER home" - not our 5 year old, superbly-built, luxurious home in as-new, display home style and condition. We found Donna avoided answering questions and would resort to ridiculous flattery and unfounded enthusiasm instead of engaging in a professional manner. Then she would simply change the subject. Bottom line was there was only one, very mediocre horse in this race. Once this buyer turned up, it seemed the agency never seriously looked for others. It was never going to turn out well for us as vendors. On auction day we were told our home would have sold for $2.5M six months prior but had (magically) dropped $650K in value in that short time. We were berated angrily during the auction that, at $100K below reserve, this buyer was already $90K over his limit. Which poses the question: What was he doing at our auction? But the substantial financial hit we took paled into insignificance compared to the furious hounding, browbeating and coercion applied by Donna in conjunction with the auctioneer. Clearly just another day at the office for Donna - but we were genuinely in shock and filled with horror. Clearly her commission, and getting the auction over with, was all important. Everything done at the auction was done to secure a bargain-basement price for this buyer and we were treated with complete contempt. Wish we'd had the benefit of being warned about this agent!
We enjoyed working with Donna and her team, great commitment to selling our property from start to finish, highly recommend!
Donna and the team at Spillane Property are truly exceptional. During the entire process of taking my property to auction I was never in doubt I was in the best possible hands. In a highly professional manner, Donna communicated the sale process step-by-step, ensuring I knew what to expect, and offered expert advice right through to my property being sold at Auction. I recommend Spillane Property wholeheartedly!
Donna and her team were very responsive to how I wanted to sell my home. There advice on the market in a time of instability was spot on and their care and attention to detail was great. I was constantly kept in the loop and care and attention was always there with regular check-ins and updates. For what is meant to be an stressful process - Donna and her team made this feel easy.
We were super happy with Donna and her team. She instilled us with confidence from day 1. This was our first time selling, and she was honest, communicative and confident every step of the way.
Donna and the team did another wonderful job selling our house at Coal Point in what is a challenging market. This was the second house we have sold with Spillane Property having sold one in January 2021. The service that the team provided was excellent.
Donna leads an outstanding team who not only knew our home (personal visits by 4 team members before market), but ensured as many prospective buyers as possible inspected our home before auction (whether online or in person). We received a timetable for key events which was met on every occasion. We always knew what was going on and why. We received oral and written reports after every inspection as well as weekly Vendor and Analytics reports. Donna and her team followed up all leads and left no stone unturned at our house sold well at auction. Donna was always on the ball and provided sound advice with respect to strategy. She made us feel confident in our own decision making about the reserve and ultimate sale. During the 5 week campaign we interacted with people who provide independent support services (e.g. staging, 3D video, building reports, auctioneer etc) and all spoke highly of her professionalism. By contrast, we also visited other houses during this period (as prospective buyers) and were surprised by the lack of follow up by other agents even though we were clearly in the market. In a nutshell, Donna is a star performer and walks the talk.
Donna and the team helped us work through a tricky time in the market utilizing their experience and knowledge in order to get a result. We highly appreciate the extra lengths they went to in order for us to get the result we did.
Donna and her team were diligent, competent and friendly with me through the build up and sale of my property. I have no hesitation in recommending Spillane Property to any considering selling their property Janice
