After my husband and I decided to move back to Brisbane I did a bit of research on who would be the best agent to use, keeping in mind the property market in Mackay was very depressed. I chose Ben Kerrisk because he seemed to be the only person making sales. Ben was always kind, courteous and respectful even though we put too high a price on our house in the beginning and he never said a bad word about our beloved home, which was far from perfect but which we loved very much. Despite all the advertising, open inspections and dropping the price more than once, we had no offers. We then decided to use Ben’s agency, Gardian, to rent the house out until we could sell it. The rentals team were very good and very professional and we got tenants straight away. I know Ben kept showing our house to the right kind of buyers - people who loved Queenslanders and wanted to be close to town - because finally, 18 months later, we received an offer. I know that was thanks to Ben’s tireless determination and perseverance. After negotiating, we got an offer we were happy with, only to find out the bank’s policy had changed and we were no longer able to sell with a shortfall on our mortgage. Ben had the nous to ask me what we would be able to sell the house for and I had to tell him it was $25k more. I thought that would be the end of it. Three weeks later Ben called me - the buyers were offering the higher amount! An absolute miracle! We were finally able to sell our house. I believe Ben used his considerable sales and negotiation skills, as well as charm and his quiet confidence to get us over the line. And he’d found the perfect buyers - people who loved the house as much as we did! I know we couldn’t have done this with anyone else. Thank you so much Ben, for all your hard work and dedication.
