The real estate agent looking after my rental property is a great communicator. She explained clearly the intentions and the circumstances of the tenants. I presented my 'bottom line' to the agent to pass on to the tenants when they asked for a further reduction in rent after we had agreed on the terms and conditions. My agent was very professional in dealing with this challenging situation. The tenants eventually moved out. I lost quite a lot of rental income as it took a long time to look for suitable tenants. However, I took this opportunity to refurbish the property, give it a new coat of paint and new venetian blinds. The agent was helpful in organising quotes and for tradesmen to gain access to the properties.
