With 15 years of experience in real estate, Andy is well positioned to teach naive, first-time vendors valuable (and potentially very expensive) lessons about the nature of the industry. We first encountered Andy Choi when he successfully conducted an auction on our street. His performance left a strong impression on us, and we were further encouraged by the recent prices his agency, Area Specialist, had achieved. Given warnings from a neighbour about the potentially unethical practices of the other agent selling this home, we decided it would be in our best interest to engage Andy directly as our representative. He adopted a strategy of aggressive underquoting, 20% lower than our desired price, promising it would attract interest and secure a top price. Once listed, he consistently lowered his price estimates, undermining our confidence in our property's value. Ultimately, the auction was a dud, unfolding exactly as we had dreaded - with buyers hoping to snag a new home at a bargain price within the advertised range. We had predicted this outcome in discussions with Andy, where he assured us that with his years of experience, he knew better. We sold post-auction, cornered by circumstances including a vacant property, underquoted price, marketing costs, and an unsuccessful auction. Andy was ready to take a substantial commission cut to secure our signatures, revealing a potential misalignment of interests. If you're prepared for sleepless nights, pondering over the 'what ifs' and wishing you had pushed back harder, then Andy is your choice. If you're okay with the memories of your family home being overshadowed by feelings of deception and betrayal, then Andy is your choice. Andy is a salesman with an answer for everything, but little regard for your asset or perspective. Our experience with him was a costly lesson, and we cannot recommend his services. We had the best experience with Art while selling our home in Noble Park. Our selling came at a bit bad time since we had lot of competition around us. However, Art helped us out with that sale - she explained us in full detail a variety of our options, suggested a strategy that would work for our situation and advised us on possible pitfalls. She also suggested a few changes that can be made for inspections. We were at ease knowing our agent is doing her best to deliver a perfect value for our home. And she did - we got an amazing value for our house in a brief span of time. We would be more than happy to work with her again, and would highly recommend her if you want to sell your house.
