I first met Jane Garwood at a social event and when I heard that she was a real estate agent I did my usual of venting at how stressful I always find the whole sales process as I always seem to spend all my time trying to convince the agent about the value of my home that I am selling and worrying about whether they have my best interests at heart. She spoke to me in a way that must have impacted me as I made a mental note to contact her if ever I decided to sell again which I considered unlikely. When the time did come to sell our home I enquired as to the whereabouts of Jane and found that she had opened her own agency with her son James in Cammeray called Garwoods. I knew immediately after meeting them both that this was the team that I wanted selling our home. At the first meeting they made some suggestions about what could be done to improve the presentation of the home which were fantastic and I felt that their approach to the whole process which was one of honesty, openness and totally relationship rather than transaction based, was exactly what I was looking for. They both totally compliment each other. At times I can be a bit of a control freak but quickly learnt ,after a few interactions, that I was best leaving it all to the experts. They tell it like it is which is how I like it. At all stages we were kept informed and my wife commented regularly how relaxed I was about everything. I always felt that they were both giving the sale their 100% best and it was always good meeting with them for updates. In the end the best gauge of an agents abilities is their success in selling your home for a good price. Our home was sold well above our reserve, at a record price for our building and maybe even for our suburb. This was not solely because of our beautiful apartment. It was in a significant way a result of the efforts, styling and marketing skills and extremely strong communication skills of both Jane and James. I recommend them highly
