The decision to sell our "family home" was one that we had been delaying for over a year. Our Dad had passed away back in 2001 and then we lost our Mum in 2010. Our brother continued to live in the house after Mum died - he had moved in to care for her when she was no longer independently mobile and was also becoming increasingly frail. Sadly, our wonderful brother passed away suddenly (and much too early) in January 2016 and in our grief, myself and my remaining siblings (four of us) couldn't bring ourselves to put the house on the market until some 12 months later.
