After settling on my purchase through Harcourts, it was apparent the tenant I thought was staying had vacated. The selling agent at Harcourts immediately organised for the letting manager at Harcourts Daniella to inspect the property. Within 2 weeks I had the welcome news Harcourts had found me a fabulous tenant!! This was despite many other properties in the building being vacant for over a month and some for less rent. I found the letting team to be responsive, honest and offered great advice in terms of what repairs and furniture purchases were needed to secure a quality tenant quickly. I was happy with the sound & professional advice and knowledge of some accounts managers in Harcourts Melbourne and they know the rental/leasing market very well. They also gave very good assesment & advice for our consideration on whom we can tenant our apartment to. However, I am very dissapointed with the total lack of communication after I signed up as a client. For example, my rental contract for the initial year was purposely made lower to reduce vacancy period with the intention of adjusting the rate back to norm on the 2nd year when there's no longer an over-supply. However, 2nd year came & gone and no one contacting me and my few emails to various persons on this issue went unanswered till date. I now have to suffer from the reduced returns from my investment.
