Auction day, for me, was a sad event as, given a choice, I would not have sold but the professional and caring efforts made by the team really helped to take much of the sting out of the sadness. We appreciated your friendliness, keeping us up to date constantly, the impressive photo portfolio of both the property and the general area, the team's inventive publicising, your interest in the history of our home and appreciation of its wonderful location. The skill of the auctioneer was a treat to watch as he doggedly pursued the goal of our reserve price. The horrible glitch of the loss of power, and therefore communication,was nerve-wracking but handled very smoothly. By the way, Cooktown has quite a few power outages but we have never had one that affected us in such a bizarre way! The following week after the auction relatives of ours who love the Burleigh property arrived unexpectedly and we were able to provide dinner followed by a re-run of the auction as entertainment, not ordeal, as we knew it had a successful ending.
