When I started the process of selling my home, my partner and I spent time attending local area auctions and open homes to observe the real estate agents and their auctioneers. We were impressed by Mark Forbes. He had a lot of local area knowledge, was approachable, was highly personable and trustworthy. We dropped out for a few months while we started planning when we would make the move to sell. Then we received a letter drop with Mark Forbes details which prompted us to get in touch with him. Mark followed up with us and we met to discuss our plans. Mark always communicated clearly and responded promptly to any questions. To us the greatest thing from Mark was re-assurance (at every level – from how to stage/how to market through to what to expect on auction day). We have seen a number of other agents in open homes and at auctions in the local area over the last 12 months and Mark is by far the most impressive. I think his professionalism leads you to have confidence – that he will achieve the best possible result – and you won’t spend time second-guessing what might have been. Given how stressful a sale can be it was reassuring to have someone as professional as Mark looking after the sale of our house. We also liked Craig who was the auctioneer at a number of the auctions we went to. He had much local knowledge and on our auction day we were ably supported by Craig.

We have popped the generously supplied bottle of Moet so it is definitely time to write to express our thanks and reflect on why we chose Charles. 1. Charles made no unrealistic promises. 2.He had a warm, lived in sort of face that reminded you a Anthony Le Paglia at times. 3.He was a good listener. 4. He kept discussions on track. 5. He developed and kept to the marketing strategy. He did not waver. and it worked. 6. The houses that Charles marketed in the area were all well presented. This was of course the owners responsibility but some other agents appeared to have more of a" sell it now, we are the local experts" approach. We are very glad that we did take the time to present the property and that Charles was patient. 7.Michelle as host was part of the marketing strategy and we feel that her contribution was very important. Michelle worked as a team with Charles and added a grace and warmth that relaxed and connected with many clients. 8. Charles' auctioneer had a deep resonant voice but never yelled or pointedly prodded his bidders. All at the auction would have felt that the process was polite and fair (as well as fun!) 9. The house sold at above the reserve. Thanks for a great result that was achieved ethically and with a style and fun that was probably honed from long experience.

Wow...Mark Forbes is amazing. Words cannot explain or express how amazing this guy is. Not only professional the whole time I had dealings with him but I feel he became a friend. There was never any pressure from Mark to buy Norton Street and he was ALWAYS courteous, communicative and helpful amid my myriad of phone calls to him. Charles Blackney was professional and personable from the beginning. I approached him to sell two properties in completely different demographics. He had a complete understanding of the market and gave sound advice on every step of the way - being realistic and keeping me grounded on the process of both the sale and auction of my properties. Charlie is a very easy person to talk to and a great communicator. He kept in touch, frequently calling to update or check on how I was going with different things. I never had to call him for updates and he always made me feel that he was completely on top of the sometimes intricate details of everything going on. I always felt that Charlie had my best interests in his head and understood my particular situation extremely well. Charlie is a sensitive, friendly, patient and understanding person who I would absolutely recommend to anybody needing an agent. His complete understanding of the market and the way he tailored both campaigns ultimately meant I received the very best price for both properties, that exceeded my expectations. I would happily approach Charlie again should I ever need a real estate agent - he was exactly what I needed.
