I have bought and sold several properties and hence have engaged many real estate agents. Having sold my house to then buy again, I found that Chris was proving the basic level of information and communication in comparison to other, more interactive agents. It's important to keep in regular contact with buyers to ensure they are happy with progress and not the other way around having to chase the agent for updates etc.

Catharina Hartzheim was a pleasure to deal with as I purchased a property. She was knowledgeable about the local market, and handled the negotiations with the vendors evenings and weekends, as needed. While an agent is paid by the vendor, I nonetheless felt that my interests as a buyer were also important to Catharina. She made an extra effort to ensure that I received the documents (such as owners' corporation minutes) that I wanted before the purchase became unconditional. She ensured that another agent in her office was available to help when Catharina herself took a brief holiday.
