She was knowledgeable about the local market, and handled the negotiations with the vendors evenings and weekends, as needed. While an agent is paid by the vendor, I nonetheless felt that my interests as a buyer were also important to Catharina. She made an extra effort to ensure that I received the documents (such as owners' corporation minutes) that I wanted before the purchase became unconditional. She ensured that another agent in her office was available to help when Catharina herself took a brief holiday.
