We entrusted Michael Harris and his team to sell our investment property in Newtown. It was a bit run down so we gave them relatively free reign to do it up to provide the best possible presentation. That said, Michael's team and their tradies, (including painters, handymen, cleaners and stylists) were frugal with their costs so for about a $20k spend it easily added $100k to the asking price. Although failing to sell at auction, Michael persisted with new buyers using his excellent negotiating skills to reach our asking price, which was $100k above the reserve we would have otherwise accepted at Auction. We were always kept well informed of developments, the whole process being quite painless once you make that initial, daunting decision to go ahead. An excellent result, thanks!

When we bought our Newtown home in 2010, Duncan was the selling agent. As buyers, Duncan was proactive in bringing us in and getting us to the auction. He kept in touch and provided accurate answers to our many questions. Of course, on auction day, as agent for the vendors, he extracted every dollar he could from us. I forgive him for that (just!). By 2015, our family had outgrown our home and it was time for us to sell. We knew immediately that Duncan was the agent that we wanted to work with. He came to meet with us to plan a sale campaign together. At all times, he provided a great service with excellent communication. We were kept informed of customer sentiment during the open house inspections, and expectations for the sale price were refined accordingly. In the end, Duncan was sold our home prior to going to auction, for a price that represented the very top of our expectations. It was a great sale result and left us in a strong position for our subsequent new family home purchase. After paying a high purchase price through Duncan in 2010, we were very pleased that he was able to provide a counterbalance with a high sale price six years later! Of course, we have no hesitation in recommending Duncan to any of our friends wanting to sell a property.

Michael was quietly confident and clearly knew his stuff. He always worked to achieve at least our reserve which we stated before even signing up for the campaign. The coordination of work necessary to prepare the unit for sale was extraordinarily efficient. The trades people used were competent and did their respective tasks in a very timely manner. Our experience with Raine and Horne Newtown over the last 2 years has been extremely positive, from our purchase of our investment property in September 2013 through to our sale of it in August 2015. Our rental property manager was Lydia Moles, who was at all times pleasant and efficient, and despite us living 700km away, we always felt in touch and well informed. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience as vendors, and feel we have learnt a great deal. The apartment was on the market within a week of the tenants vacating, looking very sleek and polished - with the professional styling, necessary repairs and maintenance having been coordinated and carried out quickly and efficiently. We were always kept well informed during the sales campaign, and feel preparation for auction day by Duncan and his team was professional, thorough and rigorous. We were delighted with the result on auction day, gaining a higher sale price than we had hoped for in spite of challenging auction conditions.
