Genuine, Honest, Humble
I met Louise by chance, she was showing a house in my street a few doors up. Viewing time was over but I caught her just as she was heading out the door and I asked if I could pop in for a sticky beak. Despite a long, hot day (Saturday to boot!) and probably looking forward to getting out of her heels and onto the couch, she was bright, cheerful, welcoming and more than happy to let me in for a quick look around. She made time to chat about the aspects of the house and the subsequent value she believed that held. I was so taken by her humble yet knowledgeable approach, I asked if she would have a moment to look at my place for a mini appraisal, which she did, immediately after locking up and leaving what should have been the end of her long, hot day.
Previously, I had been advised to seek out agents with the highest number of sales, largest gross turnover, biggest media presence... but after meeting Lou, I realized the most important criteria in choosing a representative for your home was trust, respect and admiration. If you feel it, others will too, and this ultimately draws people in.
Needless to say, a few months later we ran a campaign and two opens later it was sold for a record price. And throughout, Lou was cheerful, thorough, patient and always, always gracious.
She's my favourite kind of person.
