My neighbour sold a property and I was disappointed with the result so I thought I'd do my research before deciding on an agent. Melinda was recommended to me by several colleagues and I'm glad they did. She was warm and direct yet friendly. It was a reluctant sale for us and our family weren't in unison with putting it up for sale at first. Melinda wasn't pushy and instead put our family at ease. After just one open Melinda presented us with offers which were above our expectation. Being a local, I had my finger on the pulse so I knew they were good offers. However I wanted Melinda's input and she said if it was her property she would only settle on a better offer! We trusted her and sure enough she gave us an offer that was about $30,000 more than the price a similar unit next block sold for (it was advertised in the same month or thereabouts). I see Melinda not as an agent, but as an upfront person who means what she says, and more. She has my respect, friendship and recommendation. I spoke with several agents when choosing one to sell my property, and I chose Melinda because of her knowledge and her confidence to deliver. While other agents told me that for a number of reasons my property would not achieve a high price, Melinda was confident that she could get a great price for me. I enlisted her services and she went to work, and while her attention to detail might be too much for some, she knows exactly what needs to be done to achieve the best price. We undertook some minor renovations, and she managed those renovations as well as my nightmare tenants throughout. While Melinda's ambitious 3-10 day sale timeframe estimate didn't materialise, her 'under-promise, over-deliver' strategy certainly worked in terms of sale price. She achieved a block record (by a large margin), while other agents told me my property was nowhere near as good as the one that had held the previous record. Just to compare, another unit sold two floors above mine at the same time for a 10% lower price. I'd have no hesitation using Melinda again to sell a property - and there's a reason for all her great reviews.
