Great communication, open and friendly, ethical negotiation.
Working with Glenn was very easy because he actively listened to our opinions and concerns and took the time to address them. When he didn't agree he would explain the reasons, and in most cases we took his advice. Even when we decided to go against his opinion, he didn't make a big deal of it, just adapted his strategy to fit in with our wishes and moved on. We selected Glenn after interviewing four other agents and he had by far the best mix of saleperson skills, market knowledge, commission, responsiveness to our questions and concerns, and customer service. Things that we particularly liked about the way Glenn worked with us:
* his commission was competitive and he was willing to negotiate an alternative commission structure and marketing plan to reduce our risk. He was very open about other compensations he would receive in addition to the commission (in our case there weren't any significant extra compensations).
* he was honest about market pricing and gave us realistic (i.e. not pessimistic or optimistic) estimates of the price we might achieve. In our case this was a difficult job because very few properties in the area were similar to ours.
* during our initial discussion he was able to clearly demonstrate how he would negotiate to get us the best price, without being unethical. He conducted the negotiations in the same way he promised us he would. He used a range of "salesperson" skills (on the prospective buyers and on us) without being obnoxious or manipulative.
* he wasn't afraid to be honest and disagree with us when we were making a risky choice
* he communicated frequently, kept us up to date, and was always available when we needed to contact him. He spent a lot of time discussing things (with all three of us) to make sure we understood and we were comfortable with the strategy at all stages of the process.
There were no significant aspects we didn't like.
